Dear young adult women & pretty teenage girls,

Life is so precious. You have to have self respect and self value for yourself. Don’t throw away you life away with one single mindless decision or in the name of having ‘fun’ or ‘love’... Having a child isn’t like buying a cloth or a pair of shoes. It means you have to feed two mouths and you are responsible of making sure the child grow up to be a person.
Please think about your future AND the future of a life that you are going to create. Feeling scared or even guilty after what is done won’t change things unless you change for the better...

I’ve seen too many cases of unbooked and unscreened with single marital status in such a short time that it scared ME of what is becoming of our future generation.
My heart bled for the tiny beings who know nothing at this point.
My heart cried for what will become of their future; will they be angry, depressed or lead a successful life? Will they blame you? Will they blame themselves? Will they blame God?

So please, dear intelligent friends, you are smart, you have self value...
Please do think about your future... Not just the future in this world, but the future in hereafter as well...

Today is 6th Ramadhan... to all muslim, Ramadhan Kareem.

Woke up today to a grim news about the loss of one clinical teacher of ours; who's also the Head of Department at one of the public hospitals where we did our clinical years. May her soul be amongst the mukminin.
For us, she was a great teacher. She will be missed dearly.

And so we waited for the release of the temporary result transcripts since morning and did what was told to be done and changed what was told to be changed and again did what was demanded for us to do- which included a trip by our rep down to another office in the neighbouring area.

And off the letter was sent to the recipient but still we couldn't collect our results. So we waited.
Because it seemed that everyone was in the meeting and the results couldn't be released because everyone was in the meeting. So we waited again.

And waited and soon it was passed 5 p.m.

Oh well. The SPA interview would be at 8 a.m. and I guess we could just say that they refused to release our temporary transcript. It was fine with me. Nothing beats the truth anyway.

But hola! At 7 p.m. we were told that our results were in our colleague's hands. By the time the transcript got into my hands, guess what? My name (and not just mine, mind you) was WRONGLY SPELT.

AGAIN.

What was the point of me personally went up to the office to correct my name if it's still wrongly printed on the transcript? What was the point of us re-checking our names EVERY TIME before the Professional Exams just to get our names wrong AGAIN?

Seriously, don't they have a system for this?
Do I have to make a big deal out of this?

Even if they want to pull something like holding our transcripts until we do what they wanted us to do, please make sure that the names on the temporary scripts were correct. AT LEAST.
Especially since the copies were to be given to SPA.

And since it was released after office hour and my interview (as well as some of those whose names were incorrect) was on the next day, that left no room to correct it, yes?

To pass an exam means to go to the next stage.
At this moment we've passed the biggest challenge set for us.
And to pass it means happiness. All the hard work, sacrifices, sweat etc. were worth it.

This happiness, it has different sentiment and meaning to each person.

And of course, this is just another hurdle in life that we have managed to go through,
more will come and who knows how big it will be next time.
It's time to walk pass our current comfort zone...
Whatever difficulties that we've faced will be some preparation for us to face tomorrow.

I think we've also learned something new now... Life can be... amusing when we least expect it.
Perhaps we're still young to play this game but I'm sure if we look at it again, it's indeed another learning curve and it's just another bit of life experience that will be useful in our future.

What doesn't hurt us will make us stronger...

A few series of events had been happening past few months here and it got so many people's emotion riled up and so much anger, frustration and confusion brewing rather than satisfaction. I do personally think it also generates hate, even if that's such a strong word to be used but alas, it's the truth after all. And looking at it from their point of views, who could blame them?

One of the many things that I don't understand is, why is it so hard to follow rules and regulations? I also don't understand the need to give false hope and pretense and the persistence of trying to bend the rules. Though it's easy to say 'it won't come to this if you didn't create the problem back then' the damage has been done and rather than living in the past, we have to move on.

From one view, perhaps injustice had been done and I really couldn't agree more. But try and look at it from another point of view- who knows what hikmah may come out of it?

"... But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not." (2:216)

"When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me: Let them also, with a will, Listen to My call, and believe in Me: That they may walk in the right way." (2:186)

The results of the events didn't satisfy everyone. It also reopened old wound; so while perhaps I don't understand fully their feelings, I had been there and it was one of the biggest challenge I've ever faced. I do hope that this won't de-motivate them or make them feel inferior.

It just makes you wonder how just a handful of people could really kill you spirit... These people may live in ease now but there will be a day where 'what goes around comes around', Allahua'lam...

On the other note, I have two patients who have heart problem since birth and currently they are not doing so well... I was almost on the verge of crying yesterday because the babies looked so tired... Please have a heart in you to pray for them to get better soon so they can have the operations that they need T__T

In light of the recent earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan, even if it's a small prayer I'm sure it'll give some strength to those who are affected, directly and indirectly. And stories like these here only make your heart warmer and touched at how amazing people can be at time like this.

It’s interesting to see things from different people’s perspectives. Just by doing that alone, you can see some sort of the big picture.

It’s unfortunate however when the other parties refused to do so, just couldn’t be bothered or at least make an attempt to listen to others or just don’t want to speak up or explain. In the end, people choose to be egoistic. And in the end, everyone is angry and frustrated.
...because we let this thing call 'pride' to be our defence mechanism and we refuse to 'lower' ourselves a bit to everyone else’s level.

It’s a pity. I think if we’re ready and willing to listen to every angle’s view and not letting our emotions rule our mind, perhaps we could come to a solution for everyone’s interest. It might not be the best for everyone, but it would be something agreeable by all.

We were taught to listen and look from different angles when we were younger yet in reality those who taught me practice differently and those who were taught so threw it away because it won’t produce the results pronto.

Recently the two most unexpected things actually gave me some strength and motivation, it's almost ironic. So I guess, rather than looking at it as a disadvantage, let's make the best out of it.

A Picture A Day: Week 48-52 + 2

This is the reason why I was reluctant to start any photo project... It's January 2011 and I still lag 5 photos to complete 52 weeks. I did have fun however. This year, though I'm not planning on any photo project, I think I'll just post up some photos occasionally when I can get a hold of the camera. 365 Project looks interesting and I have a friend who does this but I don't think it's possible for me at this point. Alphabet challenge also looks interesting, I'll keep that for later when I'm a bit more free (a.k.a. hopefully in 6 months time?)

I went to a dear friend's wedding in Ipoh on January 1st, had a sleepover in the sleepy town of Ipoh with Perth ex-colleagues/friends, which was very refreshing. Then I joined my friends for a short trip in Manjung-Ipoh and came back to KL on Monday night. That trip in itself deserves another separate post- some recommended places to eat, Kelly's castle and some random shots =P

I got a text from a friend saying she had safely delivered a baby boy. A few weeks prior, I got to know through fb that another friend gave birth to a baby boy. Months before that a good friend called to inform me that she's pregnant.
Today, a childhood friend called to ask something regarding her antenatal check-up...
Today, I got to know a high-school friend is getting married in a month's time.
In January 2011, there will be another wedding to attend in Ipoh.

Vintage attempt...

Syu told me about this awesome website a long time ago.... well, a few months ago. Had some attempts with some pretty profile pictures from magazine scans and my personal collection.

And I took below photo quite some time ago- had a sudden urge to photograph the perfumes the three of us have at home... And err.... 7 out of 10 are... mine XP Actually, in this particular picture, I missed out one bottle, CK Eternity, which is empty already but I still keep the bottle, because perfumes are just love xD

The photo turned out to be dull. It's bland. And boring. So I thought I'd 'spice it up'. I've been thinking about making it vintage-like since Syu told me about the website. Check it out, it's really nice.

It's been 8 years.... most of the time I think I'm still not good and not ready to work. Everyday, the thought of exams makes me worried, not just because they're important exams, but the bigger questions of "Will I be a safe doctor?" and "Do I know enough?" and "Am I ready? Am I trustworthy enough?" keep on pounding in my head. They all lead to "Why did I choose this in the first place?"
There's a part of me that wants to finish quickly but there's also a part of me that's scared. Is there any part of me that's feeling excited to go out there and work? None at this moment.

MAJOR self doubt. I know. And it comes now, during the critical time *headdesk*

There, I said it out in the open. How long have I been feeling this and carrying this without telling a soul about it, even with some strong compulsion to meet some of my mentors?

Perhaps what I wanted, more than needed was for someone to just listen
I wasn't looking for any reassurance; basically I just wanted a place to vent out, where I can voice it out loudly for my ears to listen to it.
But I guess to hear some reassurance was a plus. I didn't seek for it but He let me have it and somehow it settled me down a bit. Alhamdulillah.

For the first time in the past two to three weeks, I wake up at 1 something a.m. in the morning and don't have the strong compulsion to go back to sleep.

I take that as a good sign.

Boku ga boku no subete... I am everything that I am now.

Success, failures, setbacks, challanges, hardship, dreams, goals...

While I am given this small opportunities now, I shall sieze them.
Tired? Maybe. Demotivated? Maybe. But while I'm a bit on the track at the moment, I'll take that chance.

I guess in a way, probably I miss them too, 嵐 =P

Blood donation lifted my mood today. A lot.
Usually there would be a banner a few days prior announcing that there would be one at the hospital but none was around this time around so it was a pleasant surprise, especially since the last donation was in March and since then we didn't have the chance or free time to go to the Blood Bank again.

Ohoku opens today... It would be nice to be able to watch that, to be honest. But at least blood donation distracted me a bit xD

I hope this is one of the little ways to give back.

So, if you're healthy, why don't you do the same too? There's a undescribable happiness and satisfaction afterwards~

- Orthopaedics Week 2: We drew lot, I'll have my assessment next week T_T

- "Jalan raya" will continue this week... Unfortunately the camera is 3 hours away so to those who wish for picture taking session, someone else have to be the photographers ^^;

I'm guessing it takes some of us by surprise since at the moment only one group has started their posting, the rest of us will start on Monday. Went to Ames' house yesterday; I thought I'd take whatever chance to see the girl/s if I can since everyone's pretty much busy nowadays. Told Ames of... I guess what can be called as good news, and ideas are brewing in our minds now. It won't be as easy as Kuching Trip, IF you can call that planning as easy, but knowing us and what we've done in the past one and a half year, it's very do-able.

I caught what Ames called 24-hour bug, and my nose is running with a lot of sneezing since last night.

Eid’ul Fitr is one of the two celebrations in Islam. You may see it spelled or called differently at different places/countries: Eidil Fitr, Aidil Fitri, Hari Raya Puasa, Hari Lebaran just to name a few but it’s referring to the same day: the day of celebration after one month of fasting in Ramadhan, a holy month in Islamic Calander.

Perhaps in Malaysia, the celebration is leaning more towards tradition in celebrating the day. When mentioning Aidil Fitri, the image that I can portray is colourful, from the scenery to the people. There’s also this image of family gathering, ‘balik kampung’ (literally meaning going back to your hometown, kampung literally means ‘village’ but in this context, your hometown), people seeking for forgiveness from the others and food. Good food.

Usually when people talk about ‘balik kampung’, it’s usually the place where family members would gather at the grandparents home... In our family, on my father’s side, it will depend on where Grandma decides to celebrate Eid. This year it was at my aunt’s house. So, on the First Raya, dad’s siblings would gather there; if you haven’t seen your cousins for the past one year, high chance that you’re going to see them there.

Years back when we were small, ‘balik kampung’ also means sleepover. The only ‘kampung’ I have is on Mom’s side (since Grandma on dad’s side lives in Kuala Lumpur now)- nowadays, we’d either go back on the First Raya in the evening, or on the Second Raya. I was sitting in what used to be the living/dining area on the upper side of the wooden house when I remembered the different designated places for different families to sleep at, with net (kelambu) hung over... and at night the kids would be outside playing with fire crackers, sharing plates with my cousins during mealtimes the next day and us little cousins taking bath together at the bathroom outside the main house... Nostalgic...

We’re missing a few cousins though this year... a few of them at their husband’s hometown and one is still in Australia... I miss them... How time flies.

Went home over the weekends and saw a familiar package. So this was the package sent.... huh?
It's tied with purple ribbon. Inside was a smaller box, wrapped in familiar sparkly purple wrapper. The moment I saw that, I already knew who the sender was. Scrape that, the moment I saw where it's from, there's only one person I know from there.

Got a phone call from one of the close friends, to tell me a very good news indeed.
It's been a while since we talked to each other so it was a very pleasant surprise
And when I receive such a good news, I get extremely and exceptionally happy,
I couldn't stop smiling... even until now =D

Almost 2 weeks ago, I received similar news from an ex-housemate about one of our friends
It sounds like I'll have more visits to do next year ♥
Also, I'm adding another date for wedding reception to go to next year~

- It's half an hour before the date changes and my sister's birthday. Unfortunately, this year, I haven't decided what to give to her yet, nor do I have anything at all in my hand as a present... not even birthday card >.< How bad is that? I'm starting to wonder if I'm that busy?

Today, we decided to come home to catch the break fast with our family, especially since our parents are going back to KT tomorrow noon. It was a nice surprise to know that our younger brother who's studying in Johor is also around. So tomorrow morning, during sahur, everyone (except that brat who's still overseas ^^;) will be here too ♥
After 3 days of fasting, finally today while breaking fast only I feel like how fasting in the past was like. It was nostalgic.
Umm... we have to head out early, back to CyberJ though... for class at 8 a.m. =P

But in summary, I'm happy. By the week before Eid, our youngest brother will be home as well, so then the family is complete =)

The other food was good but my recommendation still goes for this specific fish ^^

Came Sunday, off to the ward to find a case for exam. It was a case that I've been looking for. Found interesting learning issues; researched, prepared.

Came Tuesday the exam day, right 2 hours before exam started, the case went home- discharged.

Doumbfounded? *shrugged* I came early to the ward today to clerk another case that I saw admitted yesterday before I went home, just in case. Completely a different case, with different diagnosis, plus end stage renal failure and lots of issues to be discussed, if I was prepared beforehand.

Disappointed? Frustrated? Not really. Maybe. I don't know.

But I refrained from buying coffee.

I bought onigiri with salmon filling, dango, sakuramochi and shrimp croquette though.

Schedule for tomorrow: leave home at 6.30 a.m.

This Saturday's Bon Odori in Shah Alam, I'm not sure if I'll be able to go, despite the fact that the sisters are going =( I'm hoping to meet AiAi though, no matter what.... Class in the morning, discussion in the afternoon and then I'm trying to see if I can catch my cousin before she flies back to Tasmania in the evening... With that kind of tight schedule... I wonder if I should just invite myself to where AiAi is staying xD
But I'll have to go to the ward on Sunday to find another case for the exam on Monday because I found out that one patient that I've prepared for is going home for home leave for a week =/ I haven't decided what time yet though...

I've been swamped with work since the semester starts. Now it's one more week left before the new posting. During the break roughly a month ago, I went to Perhentian and Kuching and have some pictures to share, especially now since I've been neglecting A Picture A Week Project. But before I do that, I'd like to share what my brother had taken while we were in Perhentian.

Being there made me want to take up scuba diving. Perhaps I'd keep that as one of the long term goal =)

Sometimes, you meet some people online and then you meet them in real life, you quickly get close to them.
Roughly one and a half year ago, I met many wonderful people and 3 of them are like sisters now... A year ago, I said this to them in a journal entry : Deaieteii yokatta

The journey goes on and I keep on meeting amazing people who share the same interest... well... the interest that is the 5 adorkable guys... who seem to be good happy pill at the moment... Anyway, a package arrived a couple of days after Semester 9 started. Mom said Dad wanted to open it. Of course, the answer was no.

It's from someone in New Zealand, someone whom I've never met in real life yet; and I'm torn between amused, crying, happy and shocked. Overwhelmed even.

The whole week, stress has been building up and I'm at the wit's end... But coming home, opening up the package and saw what was inside, I literally went O.o

To you who sent the 5x10 Anniversary Tour DVD (and S.J.P's Lovely), thank you very much, you know who you are.
It's not because of the gifts that made me say this, but for being the kind, understanding and such lovable person you are, deaieteii yokatta ♥

Sunathon (a.k.a. mass circumcision mission) at Sungai Petani, Kedah [a.k.a. Le Tour de Kedah 2 or, LTDK] was a success. The boy whom I was entrusted with was pretty easy, after we got through with the local anaesthetic injection that is (and boy, he could push my hand away with such force despite me being 3 times his age xP ). And he was giggling away when he heard some other boys crying when I was stitching him, that sneaky boy =P

We thought of dropping by to go bowling before going home on Wednesday but it was crowded and the waiting list was long, so we hung out at Sha's mom's restaurant instead.

And I found Austin Chase in Wangsa Walk ^-^ <- happy face XD

This morning, when I can finally open my email, my First Press Edition order from YA has been confirmed. Boku no Miteiru Fukei will be shipped on August 5th. Something to look forward too ^-^ <- Another happy face =D

Coming posts will be picspam- Perhentian Island, Kuching! Trip & some food picspam. And then I'm back on hiatus.

This is what I was planning to post months and months before this.
Months ago, I received a package from Rhi, sending me the awesome hilarious wooden alligator, which of course was dubbed as Wanigator Jr. Don't ask me about the name, if you can figure what Wani in Japanese translated as, you'll get the idea.

Anyway, soon after, a PV by 嵐 came out and to see the appearance of "Wanigator Jr." I was all hyped up XD Cousin? Wanigator in different suit? LOL I don't know. Just play along with me this time, okay?

It's time to change the layout, I think.
And I haven't been consistent with A Picture A Week too- school + stressing out, and you got me gone on hiatus.

On the plus side, I went to Perhentian Island and Kuching so I'll make up the project with the pic-spam of both places ^.^ Oh, maybe I'll throw in some pictures of the batch dinner we had at the end of our Intermediate Life Support course too.

In less than 2 weeks, Semester 9 starts. I'm a nervous wreck, just thinking about it (>.<)

But because it's totally not worth thinking about too much, and I refuse to let it make me upset, do whatever you want; I couldn't care less. It's totally not worth getting upset about something so trivial like that *shrugs*

Marche & Theobroma Chocolate Lounge

Last February I went out to meet some friends because it's been months since our last get-together and we need a good excuse to eat at Marche (The Curve, Damansara) xD
(I've been wanting to go there since I watched the Shukudai-kun episode with cheese fondue and Mel mentioning that Marche has it... sadly, it's not there anymore. Nevertheless! It's still a recommended place! ♥)

I personally love the ambiance, it was like choosing your food in a morning market, except it's cooked. You're given a card and when your order is done and you take your food, they're gonna stamp the card. You will pay on your way out based on the stamps.

The last episode, number 178...
It took me a week plus to finally watch this one
Mainly because while I was checking it, I got teary so I thought I should take some time until I felt I could finally watch it
I cried a little anyway, especially during the last part ^.^;;

The one that pulled me into 嵐 fandom; the one that cheered me up when I was low;
The one that initiated the food experiment and food hunt,
The one that never fail to amaze me at how simple experiments turned fascinating,
The one that never fail to make me laugh, every time...
For just being the way you are, everyone involved in it, thank you very much!

But like the Mirror Man said, "Having it end makes me sad, but I also think that this is the beginning so I want to look forward and keep going."

I'm glad the last episode was as how it was.

Taken in Perak (Le Tour de Perak) in 2007? 2008? It was the evening after medical check up and outdoor games done in the village. I hope the happiness was portrayed.

Taken down south in Albany, Great Southern region, Western Australia in 2006, I think... There was a platform at where I took this picture from, overlooking the.... err.... I'm not sure which ocean this is... Southern? Indian?
Somewhere along the coast is Cape Leeuwin, the most southern westerly tip of Australia; which is also a meetpoint of Indian and Southern Oceans.

Like I've mentioned, I haven't been taking any photo lately... so, until the camera is back, I'd upload photos I've taken in the past.

For this one, I like the colourful pens to be honest. Vibrant colours = Wani likes

I am ridiculously happy. Statement below will explain it.

I took blood. Give and take around 10 this morning.
And successful at that =)

Once I'm confident I can do it with one hand, I'll practice with that too

I haven't been taking any photos lately. The last one being Wanigator Jr. that I post previously. OH! Regarding that, we discovered something interesting while viewing 嵐's short PV of Troublemaker! =P I'll probably post that later when I have time.

We went to listen for a talk given by Dr.Basil Alshaikh, a senior professor at King Faisal University entitled, Medical Ethics- An Islamic View. It was a beautiful talk. I have to thank the lecturers who organized it and the rep for informing us.

If you're sweet-tooth and love sweet desserts, I do recommend this place. Durian pancake is just one of the many yummy desserts that they have like Sago Pudding, Yam Cake, Soy Bean Jelly and Strawberry etc.
Oh, they also have meal set and a la carte; western and eastern dishes
Well, if you aren't durian fan, you can always choose other desserts ♥

I believe you can find the outlet pretty easily. We usually go to the one in Mines Shopping Mall. There're also outlets in Berjaya Time Square and Midvalley Megamall

A Picture A Week: Week 1, 2 & 3

A few of my friends started this in their weblogs. And since this place is kinda 'dead' I thought I might do the same just to lighten this place up. They, however do the 'A Picture A Day'; since I don't think I can cope with that, I resorted to A Picture A Week. More, if I feel like it =P
They may be some random picture I take or something that happen during the week. I'll probably explain or put a description regarding the picture.

Since we're already in the 3rd week of 2010, I added two extra pictures as replacement for week 1 and 2 (and an extra one for Week 3, just because! xD)

This isn't exactly for week 1 or 2 ^^;; This was taken during Tini's reception on December 25th but I've editted it in photoshop, yeah, you guessed it right ^^

This is actually taken somewhen in June last year xD I think it's called Chocolate Centre-Filled Mudcake or something like that. Location? Bayou. Sham and I did go there for lunch in Week 2 because we ran out of idea on where to go. Wait. I think it's Week 3. Errr... nevermind that. But! we didn't actually ate this dessert =P It's like a smaller version of Molten from Chillis if you still can't imagine it.

I do want to watch it live.
I do. There's no denying about it.
But I don't see the point when I can't understand a thing,
and the possibility of loss of interest once I've known the plot and how it ends =/

I'm weird like that.

But seeing the girls got excited over it, it raised my tension =/
For not giving any spoilers in Mr. Konkreet (a.k.a SB) and twitter, thank you very much

Someone spoilt it. It's off my list of 'Most Anticipated' things to watch for now =/
At least until I feel like watching it. Which would be quite a while now. Bleh.

*back to studying*

p.s. Yurase Ima Wo is addicting. I have a feeling it's gonna be on repeat, almost like Super Fresh =P

Now and Then

Attended Tini's reception on Friday night. Last weekend, it was Shikeen's. Looking at the pictures now and back then, it was like walking down the memory lane. It was lovely for Tini to put us all ex-UWAFY on one table. The ones missing were Tini herself (duh!), Rizal and Ikhwan. But chatting about how we were 6 years ago and how we are now, it was wonderful.

Just within the span of 6 years, so many things changed, yet some things remained the same.

What more if it's more than 10 years of knowing each other ^^
